Privacy Policy
Éternel UK (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. 1) Information we collect
- Identity and contact data: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address.
- Order data: what you buy, the price paid, any discount code, your order number, payment status, delivery and returns.
- Payment data: payments are processed by Stripe (and by Klarna, Clearpay or PayPal if you choose them). We never see or store your full card details.
- Messages: what you send us by email or WhatsApp.
- Cart reminder: if you ask us to remind you about your order, the email address you give and the pieces in that checkout.
- Marketing preferences: whether you have signed up to hear from us.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device information, and the pages and pieces you view. Beyond what is strictly necessary to run the site, we collect this only with your consent (see section 4).
2) How we use your data, and our legal basis (UK GDPR)
- To take, deliver and support your order, including returns and refunds: contract.
- To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation.
- To prevent fraud and misuse, including the checks our payment provider runs: legitimate interests.
- To answer your questions: legitimate interests, or contract where they concern an order.
- To send the one cart reminder you asked for: consent.
- To send news and offers if you sign up: consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To measure and improve our website and our adverts: consent, given through our cookie settings.
Order confirmations and service messages, such as dispatch details, are part of your order and are not marketing.
3) Cart reminders
On the cart page you can ask us to email you if you don’t complete your order. If you do, and your checkout runs out without payment, we send one email listing the pieces that are still available, and nothing more. The email address is kept with that checkout record by our payment provider.
4) Cookies and similar technologies
- Essential (always on): your cart, checkout and cookie choices, stored in your browser.
- Visit counts (no cookies): Vercel Web Analytics counts page views anonymously, without cookies and without following you across other websites.
- Analytics (only with your consent): Google Analytics, to see which pages and pieces are viewed.
- Marketing (only with your consent): Google Ads and Meta, to measure our adverts and show you relevant ones. If you allow marketing cookies and place an order, Google and Meta receive scrambled (hashed) versions of your contact details (such as your email address, phone number and postcode), along with your IP address and browser type, so they can match the order to an advert.
- Map: the Google Map at the bottom of the page loads only if you allow marketing cookies or choose to show it.
Until you make a choice, Google’s tags send only limited signals without cookies (for example, that a page was viewed), which Google uses to estimate visits and sales in aggregate. You can change your choice at any time with , also found at the bottom of every page.
5) Sharing your data
We share personal data only with providers who help us run the shop, acting on our instructions:
- Stripe: payments and fraud prevention. Klarna, Clearpay and PayPal also run their own checks when you pay with them.
- Royal Mail and DHL: delivery.
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Resend: sending our emails.
- Google: analytics, advertising measurement and maps (with your consent).
- Meta: advertising measurement (with your consent), and WhatsApp if you message us there.
- Our accountants and professional advisers, and public authorities where the law requires it.
We never sell your personal data.
6) International transfers
Some of these providers, including Stripe, Google, Meta, Vercel and Resend, may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
7) How long we keep data
- Order and payment records: six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as tax law requires.
- Messages: as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up.
- Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe.
- Analytics data: for the period set in Google Analytics, never more than 14 months.
After that, we securely delete or anonymise it.
8) Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- access your personal data;
- correct inaccurate data;
- request deletion;
- restrict or object to processing;
- request data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise your rights, contact us at store@eternel.world. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113), though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
9) Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, and payments are handled by Stripe, which is certified to the highest level of the card industry’s security standard (PCI DSS Level 1). No online system is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
10) Children
Our website is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with its date.
